This week, we will be learning Go Tell Aunt Rhody (#18, page 6). Unfortunately, I'll only get to rehearse with Whiteknact, Orlo, Hennessey, Silver Spring (woodwinds), and Oldham students this week. Max learned three songs during rehearsal AND a new note! Wow!** Hennessey students: PLEASE REMEMBER TO BRING YOUR INSTRUMENTS ON THURSDAYS! Reminder: I give every student a clean slate starting in the New Year. All strikes have been removed! You are starting off January 2019 with 0 strikes. However, remember that if you receive 3 strikes between now and the end of the school year, you will be asked to leave band. This week, we will dive into #38: Jingle Bells.

Great rehearsal today! I was VERY impressed by your musicianship and focus. Flutes: Please continue to practice producing a clear and consistent sound on your head joint. Review fingerings without your head joint. Focus on the last two measures of #16. Clarinets: Careful not to puff your cheeks. Don't choke up on the mouthpiece. Lastly, remember: leaks cause squeaks! Fully cover the tone holes with your fingers! Focus on the lat two measures of #16. Brass: Always warm-up by buzzing prior to practicing. Use your tuner! Focus on the last two measures of #16.
